The UN Special Rapporteur for the Human Rights Situation in Iran: The First Reports to the United Nations

Dr Ahmed Shaheed was appointed as the Special Rapporteur for the Human Rights Situation in Iran by the UN Human Rights Council in March 2011. He is an internationally recognized expert on foreign policy, international diplomacy, democratization and human rights reform, especially in Muslim States. He has twice held the position of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives. Dr Shaheed will talk about the current human rights issues in Iran, based on his first two reports to the United Nations.
