CISD Annual Lectures and Special Events

Before leaving SOAS to return to Harvard, we were lucky enough to get visiting professor David Kennedy into the studio to answer some questions on his book "Of War and Law". In the interview, Professor Kennedy is questioned by SOAS international law lecturer, Dr. Catriona Drew, and CISD student Sarang Shidore.

The full interview can be found here. You can listen to the full lecture, Modern War and Modern Law.

On the 13 November 2009, former CISD student, Nana Boakye-Adjei, presented her research into the millions of pounds lost each year by UK international development agencies. This event was co-hosted by Stamp Out Poverty.
You can listen to her presentation at the OpenAir Radio station.

A lecture given by Professor Noam Chomsky at SOAS on the 27th October 2009.

It is widely felt that the fall of the Soviet Union left a unipolar world, dominated by the remaining superpower, and that the "moment" is coming to a close with the collapse of the Anglo-Saxon "free market" economic model. Investigation of this two-decade "moment" can provide considerable insight into what came before, and possibilities for shaping the future.

The lecture is available as a podcast below
